In the future, Humans have developed the technology that allows them to finally travel between star systems with relative ease. Despite the celebration that came with this technology however, there also came fear. Earth, and its people, were not yet united under one government, and so the advent of such powerful technology caused conflict among the most powerful nations.
For a time the country responsible for its development held complete control over its use, and thus became a powerful entity, as well as a threat, within Earth's community. Eventually, however, other nations captured this prized technology, and soon enough a space race began to settle the neighboring star systems.
Fragmented Galaxy is a massively multilayer online real time strategy game (MMORTS) which is currently in development. The game takes place here in the Milky Way galaxy some time in the future. Throughout the game you will try to explore the massive galaxy while learning of the mysteries of the past and encountering players from all over the world. You will lead your nation through its founding and the numerous inevitable following conflicts over territory. Lead or follow, war or peace, explore or concur, fight in the core or wander on the fringes: The choice is yours (Once the game is available and you acquire it).
Things promised/discussed so far are:
- Art based customizable units, weapons/armor/chassis/etc. There are already 57 parts in total. Space based fleets with endless possibilities due to unit types and customization.
- Deep universe based map. Many solar systems spread out across the map which drift over time, simulating the RL universe.
- A deep plot/history with in game ties and possibly player influenced story.
- A resource system that allows for both novice and expert utilization.

At present, a space based MMORTS that is devloping in Open ALPHA stages. Heavy focus on the physics. The developers envision their role insude the universe, existing in the Sol system. Developer created units are intended to implement admin commands within the game.
