Introduction

The game is set in the United States of America and is intended to be both a MMORTS and what Guevara Studios call Real Time History game, in that a virtual version of the USA will co-exist the history of present day America. The USA was chosen because it is the most powerful nation in the world and gamers will get a chance to control the virtual version of the USA and make a virtual history happen on a daily basis.
You will build up a community either to live a normal peaceful life "The American Dream" or you can build a militia army to take on your state and then the surrounding regions and eventually the entire country. Perhaps you may not aggree with a tax increase, or a new trading law and decide that going to war is the only way to bring change. Defacto War is not a game about war it is about maintaining peace and democracy, you only go to war in order to maintain peace and democracy as you see fit.

The gamer will begin by buying land and then:

  • build a community and interact with other gamers,
  • Build a house, town, city or state within a state,
  • Build yourself a military superstate, create an economic superstate,
  • Join with other user communities to form powerful alliances and trading blocks against other states,
  • Take on the present government either with your own city state or combine with other states,
  • Conduct military coups against the present defacto government or rival states.
  • Claim a Defacto State(s) in your own name and vision.
  • Bring your version of democracy to the United States of America.

Game Details

Defacto War, Commander In Chief is a PC based MMORTS that has been pre-production for five months, Guevara Studios are the newly formed development studio responsible for making the game world come to life. The scheduled release date is 20/12/2008.

The game is not intended to sell at retail or as a download, instead The United States of America will be sold in place of a game unit/download. The land will be sold at random for £10 pounds, for that you get a area of land totalling 10 acres, this will reduce accordingly as more gamers sign sign up. Locations will be decided at random in order to maintain fairness and to prevent too many people from locating in one area. However gamers will be able to move around the country at will, only when their economic situation allows. The game it self will be shipped as a free download but only to those who have purchased land before hand and thereafter.

ABOUT THE CREATOR (The Founding Father)

Defacto War, Commander in Chief, is the brainchild of founder and Executive Producer Lucas Khan. "MMOs games have interested me for a number of years, but the technology has not been able to able to cope with the demands that online gaming needs to create a great user experience. However significant strides have been made in the past few years and now the technology is moving at a very fast rate and that is only good news for gamers who play MMORTS and new users looking to sign up.

"Defacto War is intended mix politics, economics and what I refer to as real time history with the MMORTS genre it is first and foremost a war based MMORTS but the how and why you go to war depends on the economic and political situation of the game in real-time and also if the gamer is a megalomaniac. Which helps a great deal." continues Khan. "When the game is launched you will be able to change the political, economic, military landscape of America as it exists today as real entity but in a virtual context".

The game is scheduled for release in 20/02/2008.

Summary

This game was in early Alpha and showed some interesting innovations. Placed in MMORTSim for now down to its realistic history we are approaching the developers for an explanation why it seems to have died.

To begin your campaign you have to buy a plot of land costing £10GBP
With the game currently in development (launch date is 20/12/2008), Guevara Studios is selling off the USA to allow gamers to pre-book territory. The actual game will be free, there will be no monthly subscription charges and all future game content such as new tools and upgrades will also be free. So no micro-transactions for that new piece of military hardware, or perhaps the construction of new State Bank. You will earn your currency by trading with other gamers online via a virtual economy.

The first 49 people to sign up will be installed as Governors for each of the 49 available states within the gaming world of Defacto War, therefore you will have the power to charge taxes and so on, but you will answer to the incumbent Defacto Rulers, in this case Guevara Studios. Governors will be selected at random.

All you have to do is click on the buy land button on the site and you will own a piece of virtual land in the United States of America. Land and locations will be distributed at random to make it fair for all game users.

Buying land is a one off purchase, you will be allocated an area of land at random, approximately 20 Acres, from which to build your community. You can join with other communities to form towns, cities or breakaway separatist republic in order to challenge the current government and make a bid for power or you could set up a hotdog stall roaming freely from state to state. The choice is yours the possibilities are endless.
