Battle Corp is both an economy-strategy simulation and a tactical military game in which you are leading a powerful Corporation, your Corporation. Your corporation will thrive through the galaxy, acquiring goods, subsidiary companies, armies, spaceships and even entire planets. All these resources will help you on your way dominating the galaxy and resisting other quarrelsome corporation’s assaults. You will manage your company through a specifically designed interface which allows you to carry out all the actions you need: buy small businesses (mining moons, security companies, casinos…), buy or sell resources, send troops to the planets you are fighting on for and much more. In order to gain new planets you will have to battle against other corporations. The game then becomes a strategy game in which you will have to eliminate your opponents to achieve victory. In this part of the game you’ll have to build factories, produce armies and manage your resources. Fortunately you will be able to send reinforcements from your corporation to your planet. If your strategist talents lead you to victory, your Corporation will take possession of the entire planet and you will be able to administrate it. Planets are very helpful to prepare your next battles and consolidate your Corporation’s position in the conquest of the known galaxy.
Battlecorp is a diplomatic strategy and management game, turn based and massively multiplayer. It is a wargame, much like an improved version of RISK, where you’ll have to confront other players on a tactical map in order to conquer planets. The game is turn based, meaning that your actions will not have immediate consequences but may take 24 or 48 hours before carried out. Battlecorp is neither a reflex game nor an office game, but a real strategy and diplomacy game, where your tactical abilities and your thinking will be more usefull than your swiftness with the mouse. The Wargame part of Battlecorp is tactics oriented and the battles against other plaxers will be exciting and trhilling. Beside the Wargame, the management aspect of the game offers you more possibilities on the long run. Won planets will be added to your assets and will provide you with troops and resources, strenghening your Corporation for future conquests. Battlecorp is also a political game where alliances will be done and broken and where The Consortiums will battle fort he domination of the known galaxy. If you like political games you will certainly enjoy Battlecorp.
Battlecorp is based on a dual Time management system: - Cycles, which are carried out at predetermined hours - Actions, which take specific time to be carried out This system is applied to both aspects of the game, to the corporation management as well as to the wargame. The cycles determine your resources extraction, your factories production (armies, electronic components, energy…), your troops and buildings upkeep and the tax collection of your territories. Actions (such as orders given to your troops) take prefixed time to be carried out. For exemple, attacking a territory will take 24 hours before getting a result (victory or defeat) but sending a spy will only take 12 hours to be resolved.
Wargames will probably your priority the first few month in the game. Your first two battles will confront you to other new corporations ona desertic map. To reach the next level you have to survive your first Wargame (by winning or keeping your starting position). After surviving your second one you will gain the Corporation status and you yill have access to all the functions of the game. The management of your Corporation will be secondary at the beginning. Your objective is to win as soon as possible your first planets so you can developp them later on. As soon as you will possess your first planets or will have improved your income will have plenty of time discovering the management aspect of the game During your first Stepps in the Battlecorp universe you will not be able to create or join a Consortium, but it is important to contact other players for your upcoming diplomacy. The Chat and the Forum are made for such exchanges, helping you to communicate with the players you will have met during your wargames. You might want to form alliances with them and maybe even create your own Consortium later on. Once you have the Corporation status you will be confronted to more experienced and motivated players. The wargames will get more intense and much more interesting than the first ones. Going to war on an Iced planet is’nt immediates as for the Desertic. Instead you will be placed in a waiting queue allowing to group players of a same level together so you can take your time to progress.
