Black Hole Routers and the *£$*!%! They Lose

robob.jpg

Ok - this cute chap is B.O.B. - The robot from The Black Hole (short for BiO-sanitation Battalion). Nearly identical in form and function to V.I.N.C.E.N.T., this poor, battered model had a Southern drawl and was missing a leg. Its bashed head was in a permanent state of slanted, partial retraction-the robot equivalent of a hobo's crushed, open-topped hat. For years, B.O.B. had been relegated to the status of stock boy on the U.S.S. Cygnus, a renegade ship parked near a black hole.

Even worse, B.O.B.'s jocklike fellow robots denied him vital parts and repairs!!

Much like areas of the Internet today it seems. Now that I can shake the nostalgia off after googling BlacK Hole, the reason for this article is to highlight an issue plagueing many on the internet and especially those playing the most demanding genre - MMORTS.

The nice folks at Dark Sky Entertainment noticed a pattern of similar disconnection issues and have possibly found the solution. Kind enough to share this information for all, through many sites, they sent out an article which covers this issue quite well. Many thanks to Diplomat, the front-end interface for Dark Sky Entertainment for this interesting article.

Has this happened to you lately? You try to log onto your favourite game but it takes multiple tries, and then once you do get in you get kicked right in the middle of a crucial fight, and all support can tell you is that it’s something with the network even though you know there’s nothing wrong with your connection?

Well allow me to alert you to a problem which has been discussed on forums as large as “World of Warcraft” and as fresh as “Beyond Protocol”: Black Hole Routers.

sweet going microsoft- just another deed they've done for the computer world. from directX to sp3 they've had one great thing after another. amazing how some people still diss a company that has contributed so much to computers and electronics.
