Recently, the developers at Ballerium have entered the Fray but purely as players, forming the Titan Clan. To announce this and deal with concerns over abuse and other issues, they recently posted the following notice on thier website news...

Dear Ballerians,
Some of you have noticed that we started up an Admin clan named Titans. I was able to convince the team to take a more active role in the game. I am a firm believer that people should be experts on the games they work on. You will find that there are different skill levels involved here, but we are all pretty much still noob's to the game. For now we plan on working on the area we have set up camp in. As far as our involvement in the round, we plan to stay neutral. We might take on some newcomers and teach them the little that we know.
I know some of you guys are eager to take a crack at us. Treat us like any other clan out there. We are not giving our accounts any special powers or skills, anything we gain will be via normal means. Many of you are not used to having the admins being so involved with a game, but that is the way we like to do things. We like to think the game is being run for gamers by gamers.

Feel free to bring up any concerns or suggestions about us owning cities. Remember, you can attack us and take our cities, but we are not responsible if your data happens to be lost along with your heroes (Just kidding, about the losing data, not attacking us part)

Maybe this example will evolve over time, new ideas are coming forward and certainly it would be an excellent introduction to In game player created quests and such to initially allow In game developers the tools to do so. My advice to the Ballerium community is GIVE THEM HELL! Stress the developers and watch the micromanagement disappear overnight. For Ballerium, whilst still a traditional developer model, the possibility of a more vibrant dynamic between developers and players offers much hope from one of the core MMORTS titles.
