So, I recently told you about the changes to the game, but what about the friends and foes, the struggle against people and powers, about the all or nothing trials and triumphs within the game? The following is a relatively brief review of the past four months. Obviously, this is from my (Havoc's) perspective, so there are most likely holes, and I may have some biases on how things actually played out, but this IS how I remember it.

We're All Newbs Here, Let's Fight!
|
| My empire started in Episer, along side Vimes and just about all of the other beta players, most of which got a 24 hour lead on the game. At the time, the surviving beta guilds were known as the “big three” and they were, Black Hand (BH), Qua'Sha Conclave QSC, and Traders Consortium (TC). I was, at one time, a member of BH, but I had not liked what I saw recently, so I joined QSC, which Vimes helped organize. The main reason for joining them was that it put Vimes and I on the same side again, something that had not happened in nearly a year. However, having just become acclimated, most of QSC’s members were not up for a fight, and it looked as though BH would be giving them one in Episer. So, many of them withdrew and spawned in Senzda. The move left Vimes, Endur4ever, and I behind against an entire guild. While TC was there, they quickly fell and retreated. We were alone. Our goal was not victory, but merely to buy time for the others to advance in their safe system. One by one, we were picked off and arrived in Senzda. However, their coordination and tactics let us know that they respected our experience enough not to take us lightly. |
