After hard BETA testing it seems that Dark Sky Entertainments upcoming title Star Alliances is soon to be released. Pimped as a less intense and faster paced version of Beyond Protocol, DSE's Epic scale MMORTS, players begin as a member of one of three Guilds slugging it out endlessly. Simpler crafting of units, faster production and easier delivery to the front lines are the key differences, with a simpler GUI taking advantage of all that has been left out. Details are sketchy but more should be available soon.

In Beyond Protocol it seems epic war is still afoot with local badboys Dominion grinding down anyone who opposes them or sneezes nearby. We are still awaiting the arrival of some serious cross genre guilds/clans after Goonswarm gave up (not easy enough). Patches have been arriving regulary and new features are always coming thanks to a well attended Senate.
