Star Alliances Patch Notes 08/18/09
Mid-day Patch
Added a new button to the Chat window that will open a "Players Located Here" window and will indicate what players are in the environment for your faction The Deployment window is not as harsh in refreshing when deploying multiple units
Gameplay
- Put in better safeguards so that players are no longer disconnected from environments where other players are entering the environment
- Missiles now detonate after a period of travel time
- Units can now be Discarded at the Homeworld
- The Engineer is no longer buildable from the Homeworld in order to not confuse new players (should build Space Engineers from the home system)
- Transports, Space Engineers and normal Engineers no longer can fit weapons. Existing designs that break this rule have had the weapons removed.
- Hull availability special project upgrades should now come more readily to non-trial members
- Ground-based Engineers no longer reward influence
- Added a trickle of influence for online players
- Players can now launch their own units from faction-mate units and facilities. To do so, select the faction-mate's unit/facility and click the Launch All "the key" button in the lower left window
- Beginning Space Engineers now cost 100 radar, 100 engine, 100 hull and 100 armor to produce
User Interface
- Wormholes now render in all views regardless of whether you have units in the environment
- Wormhole labels now display in system Strategic View
- The camera in Galaxy Map View is now better at saving the view
- Faction Alerts that have extra data with them now say "Click for more info" in the message
- The Friends List quickbar icon now blinks when you have pending friend requests
- Clicking Cancel Repair now correctly cancels the repair orders more reliably
- Increased the size of the Conflict indicators for systems in Galaxy View
- Conflict indicators for systems in Galaxy View now last a little longer to provide time for others to see
- Fixed a bug where typing . would cause the builders to explode
- When the special project list is empty and the player is a trial member, a message will display on how to get more special projects
- When enemy units enter a system controlled by another faction, the faction is alerted to this
- The Deployment window should refresh faster
- Change of ownership alerts now appear for planets that you have not yet visited
- Removed unused /help commands
- Removed the Senate button on the quickbar
- Added a Warning message on the hull builder for when structural hitpoints exceeds the hull size
Miscellaneous
- The Invite Friend email now includes the correct link
- Bomb explosion radius effects should be more reliable
- Outbound emails are now sent from star-alliances.com
- Added more tutorials for movement and colonizing planets as well as rearranged existing tutorials to be better categorized
