Star Alliances Patch Notes

Influence

  • Active accounts (paying subscriptions) now receive an additional trickle of influence regardless of being online or offline
  • Players now receive 1,000 influence the first time they have a unit enter a star system they have never been in - Exploration Influence
  • Reworked the Influence system to resolve a large quantity of issues we have been noticing
  • Influence reward no longer requires a unit to be destroyed in order to receive it
  • Influence is granted on a per shot basis
  • Influence is based on the target's overall combat effectiveness - unarmed units are worthless
  • Fighters receive a very large bonus when scoring critical hits versus targets that disable components
  • Facilities now grant a flat 1000 influence for their destruction and are not included in the normal influence system
  • Influence is only generated for shots that hit armor or structure
Gameplay
  • All fighters have had their chance to inflict a critical hit increased by 5%. This is a base level increase and is in addition to hull trait bonuses.
  • Fixed an issue where going to the home system and then returning to a battle would sometimes not display the weapons fire
  • Homeworld mining settings will now persist between downtimes
  • Removed the Production slider in the Prototype Builder as it is no longer useful
  • Power requirement for radar is now effected by assigning a Jamming Immunity
Point Defense
  • We have found a major issue with Point Defense, thanks to you our players for reporting it
  • Point Defense weapons were intended to fire on missiles that are intended for friendly ships
  • There is a bug with this mechanism making anti-missile ships no longer viable for a strategy
  • Therefore, until the bug can be resolved, Point Defense weapons have had a massive boost to their ability to hit missiles
  • This resolution will be in place until the assisting mechanism has been fixed in order to bring missiles back into balance
Space-based Structures
  • All space-based structures (space defenses and space stations) are required to be 1000 range from any wormhole. Violators of this rule have been removed.
  • Adjusted space-based structure range penalties to be more in line with the desired goal
  • Space stations are no longer drastically slower at repairing units
Miscellaneous
  • All sight no longer causes tactical data to appear and never be removed
  • Added a button to the Updater to view the Manual for Star Alliances
  • Player names will appear as red if they are enemy or teal if they are in the same faction when looking in the single selection window
  • Players who had Destroyers in their special projects have had that removed for the correct projects instead
