Well if you guys look up game theory, you'll fidn that 'Rational' players actually win more than 'Irrational' players.
The thing is. A 'Sane' HUMAN player. Is classed as 'Irrational'. What? Well, a Rational player works for the benefit of only himself, and seeks only to win. As it were.
Now one continues to ask, that's how a normal player isn't it? No. A normal person is Irrational because they will react like a human. What? It's easier to explain like this: There are two players. One, is the bargainer. One is the person who agrees or disagrees to the deal.
The bargainer is sharing out a monetary value. The precise value doesnt matter. The other person, if they agree, gets the share the bargainer chose. If they disagree, nobody gets anything.
Now the decider is supposedly in the position of power. Say the bargainer says he gets 99% and the decider gets 1%. Now an Irrational player, would say 'No.' to punish the other player. Now many people would say 'Duh.' because htat's how they would react. But a Rational player, realises that they will gain either something, or nothing. A Rational player will take any amouunt, so long as there is no chance of a greater sum. In this way, the human player ends up moneyless, while the rational player ends up with money. A Rational player plays for the greatest profit. An Irrational player plays. Well, we don't actually know what he plays for. It's weird, but I hope this helped you understand.
Anyway, an Irrational player plays not to win, but to win with a minimum of casualties, or with a lesser, unrequired goal in mind. The Rational player takes every opportunity to WIN. No matter the cost in men, resources or anything else. So he will gain footholds faster, but also lose many things faster.
Jeez, ramblin' on...
