The year is 2317. Earth's 4th world war has caused even more nuclear
devastation than the 3rd. Most of the planet's few remaining
inhabitants are forced to flee and search for a planet that is capable
of sustaining human life. After years of searching the universe, a small group of settlers
happens upon a large planet that seems to have breathable air and
enough resources to support human civilization. Because of the planet's
seemingly limitless size, they name their new planet Boundless.
Shortly after the settlers arrive and begin to survey the planet, they
realize that finding this place was something of a mixed blessing. They
are not alone. Many other groups, some from Earth, and some from other
worlds, have already begun colonizing the planet. Competition for the
planet's limited resources is fierce, and often leads to violent
conflict. The pressure of the new situation proves to be too much for the
fledgling society, and their civilization quickly disintegrates into
scattered factions. Some manage to form alliances with other groups and
with the planets previous inhabitants, and those groups are much more
likely to survive
Build your cities to withstand attack, build your armies to neutralize any threat, and build your empire to inspire fear.
Welcome to BoundlessPlanet, one of the world's first fully 3D
Persistent Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy Games
(MMORTS) which pits you against hundreds of other players
simultaneously in a planet-wide struggle to claim natural resources and
expand an empire using the limitless power of an army, navy, and air
force of your own creation.
Mine the planet's natural resources to build fortified cities and
unstoppable armies. Research new weapons, machines and technologies to
enhance your military might on land, sea, and in the air. Form
alliances with other players, share resources, and plan coordinated
attacks using the internal chat messager. Use cunning, wit, deception
and raw power to ultimately conquer the planet.
Game play in BoundlessPlanet revolves around natural resources.
The size of your army, the redundancy of your defense, and the
technological advancement of your empire is entirely dependent on how
much Iron and Oil you are able to mine, store, and distribute.
In order to ease local use and distribution of these resources, any activity within a certain distance of a Command Center can automatically access the Command
Center's ample storage of 10,000 units of Iron and/or Fuel (once Oil is mined using an Oil Refinery, the resulting liquid is Fuel).
This wide area of control is called the Command Center Control Area, and is represented by a wide green circle only visible when the Command Center is selected.
Within this area,
the myriad necessary transfers of resources to and from Iron Mines, Oil
Refineries, vehicles, resource storage, Power Plants, construction
projects, etc., are all handled automatically. This functionality makes
Command Centers critical to a
functioning, independent base. The majority of the information on this
page revolves around this simple concept, so we encourage you to start
playing, and refer back to the following details if necessary.
--------------------
You will start with two Builders, two Scouts, and a Command Center storing a limited amount of Iron and Fuel.
Builders, Command Centers, and Power Plants
are the vertebrae of any base on BoundlessPlanet, so we will address
them here and in the 'Vehicles' and 'Buildings and Structures' sections
of the Help text.
Your Builder is one of your most important vehicles, as it is the only
vehicle in the game capable of constructing buildings. When a Builder
is selected, its construction options appear at the bottom of your
screen.
Each construction option in the
Builder's menu has a cost in either Iron, Fuel, Power Usage, or all three. Structures built within a Command Center Control Area are automatically supplied the necessary construction resources, and the Power required by most structures can only be supplied by a Power Plant.
In order to acquire more resources,
Iron and Oil Refineries must be built on top of Iron Deposits and Oil Deposits. One of each deposit will be close to your first Command Center, and many more are located around the Planet.
Construction projects outside a Command Center Control Area require resources to be manually delivered using a Transport vehicle.
This means that once you need more Iron and Fuel than your initial
resource deposits can provide, you need to scout your territory for
more resource deposits. Once you find one that doesn't already have a
mine or refinery on top of it, you must then transfer 500 units of Iron
from your Command Center into a Transport vehicle, and send the
Transport and a Builder over to the faraway deposit.
This is because
building an Iron Mine or an Oil Refinery takes 500 units of Iron, and
once you're trying to build something outside of your Command Center
Control Area, you need to supply Iron to the construction project
manually. This is one of the more difficult concepts in
BoundlessPlanet, so if it seems confusing, try it, and if you're having
trouble, ask another player within the game for help.

Created by Alexander Adell(website & Graphics) and Justin Sadowski (Programmer). Alexander moved on soon after release and the community and game has been sustained by Justin since then.
Its
a land/sea/air based warfare led game with resource collection and unit
creation and of course, WAR. The game is run by one solo developer and
is going open source, at present only the client has been released. The
Community has set up a website at bpgamers.com to help develop this
game further - the potential is great and warfare when busy is intense.
There is a free weeks demo - the community
is pushing for either a free server or a 4week demo to allow new players to
fully experience the long term strategy elements. Planets last around a month
before filling up and new planets are then released. Old ones remain open and
active - just no new joins. Invasion is being explored for world v world
conflict in the future.
Death match can fill the time while silos
refill with iron and oil, the two present resources. Many more are planned.
Deathmatch maps are player made - .tga files with colour being interpreted by
the server into heights and resources etc. Games are smaller, faster and have
no new start shield.
