Guide to BETA Testing

If you are looking for something new, something you havent tried before, then consider signing up for a BETA and learn some of the process involved in bringing us the games we know and love. Games like Spore, UT3, and other much delayed titles have thousands waiting and cursing the delays but understanding little about why. Find out by applying for a BETA and learn the art of patience.

Many find no trouble finding a BETA to participate in but large numbers find this area to much trouble initially. When acceptance comes, real life has passed on and many find themselves unable to contribute fully or at all. Only contemplate entering a BETA if you have the time, many times the game will be reset and you will have to begin again. Many times you will be owned by an exploit and have to endure it, Submitting bugs and responding to developers structured tests can consume playing time and more.

When applying, be patient. Developers are gambling a lot on their ability to  pick the right folk to test and stretch their product and they may wish to take their time to manually process each application. This is on top of many other development stages and issues that occur with any public release.
